Grappling

Our grappling program is founded on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but also incorporates techniques from other styles.

BJJ specializes in what happens in the clinch and on the mats. A smaller BJJ student can often restrain or submit a larger opponent using pins, joint locks and chokes. BJJ is one of the most effective styles for mixed martial arts, military and law enforcement.

Grappling class consists of warm-ups, techniques, drills and sparring.

Safety is our greatest concern. Throws and submissions must be performed in a controlled manner. We take care of our training partners.

We have a fully matted floor; the mats are cleaned daily.

We train with and without a gi (uniform). The class schedule will indicate which days you should bring your “fightin’ jammies” or rash guard and shorts.
